Medical Community Outreach

The DSPG gives presentations at local area medical professionals on the best practices in delivering a diagnosis of Down syndrome. If you would like to schedule a presentation please contact Amy Monson at amonson23@gmail.com or 716-997-2843.

Parent Support Program

The Parent Support Program connects new parents with volunteers who can share their experiences and provide support. A phone call, hospital or home visit is available upon request. Please contact us at 716-832-9334.


Our Social Events

The Down Syndrome Parents Group of Western New York hosts a number of activities throughout the year. Special social gatherings are held annually to provide a fun family atmosphere for all ages to enjoy. Below, you will find a partial list of many of these events which have become a yearly tradition for many families.

Step Up for Down Syndrome

SUDS is our flagship event, bringing hundreds of people together to promote Down syndrome awareness throughout our community. Each year it has grown to become more and more successful, drawing people from all over the region for a fun filled day.

Fall Dance

A great chance to get together, mingle, socialize, and of course… dance!

Halloween Party

Enjoy trick or treating and around the playground at Bornhava.

Holiday Party

The DSPG holiday party is always fun for the whole family… and often noted for Santa sightings.

Valentine’s Dance

A Valentine’s themed get together. Mingle, eat and dance!
